The Leprechaun
Leprechaun 4: In Space is the fifth in the Leprechaun horror movie series. It's in space, but that's what makes it so awesome. Leprechaun 4 shows how to make a ludicrous idea "special." The movie has realistic effects, imaginative killings, and hilarious Leprechaun lines. If you like the Leprechaun series or horror films, watch Leprechaun 4: In Space.
Pinhead
Hellraiser: Bloodline is an intriguing prequel and sequel to the Hellraiser franchise. The plot covers three separate historical periods: the 1700s, the 1990s, and the 2200s. Honestly, I didn't have big hopes for the fourth film in the series, since, let's face it, I'm just here for Pinhead and the Cenobites. It is always a delight to watch Doug Bradley play because he retains that chilly, menacing, and demonic vibe. This makes no logic and is tough to understand, but who cares about any of those things? Even if you've watched the whole Hellraiser series, it's worth seeing Bloodline just for the moments with Pinhead since they're so gruesome. If you loved Hellraiser or any of the other works by Clive Barker, you should check out this one for sure. Even though there isn't a whole lot of logic to it, it's still a tremendously interesting ride.
Critters
I have to confess that I was fascinated when I heard that Critters 4 would be set in space. How could they possible outdo the previous Critters films? But then I saw the cast list, and it didn't seem good. Dourif, Brad? What about Angela Bassett? Anders Hove, a well-known Danish actor? I simply didn't see how this could work.
And my concerns were verified when I eventually watched Critters 4. A rip-off of other franchises placed in a poor locale, the plot was awful, the characters were bad, and the tale was bad as well. What truly hurts from a fan standpoint is that the very features that made the prior entries distinctive and enjoyable are either entirely stripped away or simply not there at all. Critters 4 is a terrible mess and a major letdown.
Dracula
One of the very few awful horror films that is so horrible it's almost unwatchable (Friday the 13th in space) is Dracula 3000. I adore detesting Dracula 3000. Even though it's terrible the whole time, my primary complaint is that the finale was a complete cop-out and left me feeling absolutely disappointed. "Dracula in Space" wasn't as horrible as I had imagined it would be; rather, it was dreadful. The concept is interesting, but the performance is poor, and the conversation is intolerably annoying. If you want to have a bad day, I suggest viewing it.
Coolio, too. Coolio is in it. Did I mention that before?
Jason Voorhees
The most notorious horror movie sequel to take place in space is called "Jason X." Jason Voorhees is the real-life embodiment of the horror movie myth and legend. It doesn't matter how he got into space, but he did. Nobody really cares about the reason why he's in space. The only thing that counts is that Jason is out in space and ready to cause mayhem.
Jason X is, in my view, worth observing for Easter eggs and references to earlier Friday the 13th films, as well as his transformation into Uber Jason.
While this movie isn't everyone's bag, it's a terrific viewing for horror movie enthusiasts who adore campy, cheesy, slasher pictures.
